WEEK 11 IS HERE!!
I am still just as excited as week 1! These last few weeks will determine the post season. Who doesn't like post season football? Ok, maybe if your team doesn't make it, but you have to admit, anything that extends the football season is fantastic! This is also the last week for byes. Those teams are: Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, and San Francisco 49ers. Check out the picks I made for this weeks matchups.
DETROIT LIONS VS CHICAGO BEARS:
The Bears put up a good fight most games. Unfortunately, it is not enough in most games. Even with the change in QB to the rookie Mitchell Trubisky and the outstanding play of RB Jordan Howard, there are not enough weapons to propel the offense. This may hinder the development of Trubisky. Detroit, on the other hand, is rolling right along. Other than this being a divisional game, there is nothing to see here.
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS VS CLEVELAND BROWNS:
Cleveland could give Jacksonville a bit of a hard time, but it will be to no end. Nothing much to say about this one.
BALTIMORE RAVENS VS GREEN BAY PACKERS:
Green Bay is feeling pretty good after that win last week. Will the momentum help against the Baltimore defense? It will definitely cause QB Brett Hundley to make quick decisions. He may not be ready for that. The Ravens offense has not exactly been high scoring, but against a depleted Packers defense, it will look pretty good. If the Ravens take advantage and can keep the Packers offense off the field, they may stand a chance. Last week, the Packers proved folks wrong. This week....not so much.
ARIZONA CARDINALS VS HOUSTON TEXANS:
Houston, we have a problem. QB Deshaun Watson is out. QB Tom Savage is back in. It has been more of the same with Savage. He has been a turnover machine and his completion percentage is in the toilet. The Texan defense is nothing to speak of, as well. Arizona is average at best, but there should be no reason QB Drew Stanton and company cannot get this win.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS VS MIAMI DOLPHINS:
This is the week 1 rescheduled game between the two teams because of Hurricane Irma in Florida. It is bad on both sides of the ball for both teams. Bucs QB Jameis Winston is hurt. Ryan Fitzpatrick is trying to pick up the slack. 'Phins QB Jay Cutler is proving game by game that he should have never returned to the game. This will not be an exciting game. A winner needs to be predicted so here it goes.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
LOS ANGELES RAMS VS MINNESOTA VIKINGS:
Unlike the game predicted above, this game should be one to watch! Happy dance!! Both offenses are fun to watch. Rams coach, Sean McVey, has his QB Jared Goff playing like a vet. Vikes QB Case Keenum is also playing lights out with Stephon Diggs and Latavius Murray. This game will boil down to defense. Minnesota has the third ranked defense in the league. It will be hard for the Rams to use their running game with RB Todd Gurley with any type of effectiveness. It could be a shoot out when all is said and done.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS VS NEW YORK GIANTS:
Coming off of a bye week and playing the Giants should put the Chiefs right back on track. Let's face it, the Giants are only thinking rebuild at this point. They let the 49ers beat them. REALLY?! Let's pick this one and move on.
Kansas City Chiefs
WASHINGTON REDSKINS VS NEW ORLEANS SAINTS:
It is starting to set in that the Washington Redskins are the team we thought they were. A mediocre team plagued with injuries with little upside. The loss against the Vikings last week was just the start of their woes for the rest of the season. They are going up against future Hall of Famer, Drew Brees in New Orleans. With a weak defense, containing Brees will be beyond a challenge. The Saints will not fall all over themselves like the Seahawks did when the Redskins achieved that win. Do not expect a blowout, but Redskins fans do not expect a victory Monday.
New Orleans Saints
BUFFALO BILLS VS LOS ANGELES CHARGERS:
Everyone still confused at the change at quarterback for the Buffalo Bills? Why Tyrod Taylor is not the starter? You are not the only one. They have a chance at the playoffs and they pulled this move? Well, get ready for fifth round pick rookie QB Nathan Peterman. He will be making his debut this week for the benched Taylor. No pressure! This is an opportunity for the "almost won" team to get a much needed win to boost morale. Chargers QB Phillip Rivers and RB Melvin Gordon will make a go of it at home.
Los Angeles Chargers
CINCINNATI BENGALS VS DENVER BRONCOS:
Cincinnati is not so good on the road and some players look as if they have anger issues. They are 1-4 on the road to be exact. The Denver defense plays pretty well despite the offense not doing much at home. Both teams will be trying to close out the season with a couple more wins. There should be some competitiveness between the two teams, but not enough to keep you tuned in. Look at the ticker if at all possible for the score of this game.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS VS OAKLAND RAIDERS:
Technically, both teams are on the road today playing at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, Mexico today. There is no doubt that the Raiders need this win, but the Patriots are not the team that they will get it against. Such a weak secondary the Raiders will be putting up against a surgical Patriots offense lead by QB Tom Brady. Do not even look for QB Derek Carr and the boys to make it interesting.
New England Patriots
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES VS DALLAS COWBOYS:
Sunday night football could not be more intense as the divisional meeting between the Eagles and Cowboys. The loss of RB Ezekiel Elliott is being felt. The loss of OT Tyron Smith was even more devastating. If he is good to go, Dallas could put up a good fight. The Eagles pass rush is not a shining spot on defense. If Smith comes back or the Cowboys make the adjustments, QB Dak Prescott could make it a game. What can they do against QB Carson Wentz? He is on fire. The Cowboys defense could potentially cause Wentz to choose poorly. In a much anticipated contest, do not expect either side to give up easily.
That is how I am calling it this week. Which games are you looking forward too? Nothing like watching football all day on Sunday to see how everything turns out. Good luck to your teams and picks!
