It's time for football and turkey! There are three games for our viewing delight today. Two of the games are divisional. This should make for some interesting talk around the dinner table today. Wins are critical at this time of the season if only to decide where teams fit into the playoffs. Let's see if Detroit, Dallas, Los Angeles Chargers, and Washington can keep their post season hopes alive.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS VS DETROIT LIONS:
There is no controversy about who is going to start at QB for the Vikes. It's Case Keenum. The return of Teddy Bridgewater had some folks questioning if he'd start. Minnesota is going with the hot arm and that is Keenum. In this second match up between the two division teams, the roles have reversed. The Vikings are stronger and more in sync than the Lions are at this point. There is nothing to say that has not already been said bout the Vikings. The Lions themselves will decide this game. QB Matthew Stafford along with the secondary will find a way to win this in the final minutes. This is a gut feeling because this is the day the Lions have made. Thanksgiving is their day. This will be the difference from having a clinched spot and having a wild card spot for the Lions. The Vikings will have more of a challenge this week. Eat your pre-dinner snacks for this one.
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS VS DALLAS COWBOYS:
Los Angeles is looking for a wild card spot. Who would have thought? They may be well on their way playing Dallas this afternoon. The Chargers have one of the top pass defenses in the league right now. This will not fair well for Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. With so many injuries on both lines for Dallas, it may be easy for QB Phillip Rivers to get his team ahead. Rivers has his offense clicking with RB Melvin Gordon, WRs Keenan Allen and Mike Wallace, and TE Antonio Gates. Key losses for the Cowboys include OT Tyron Smith and LB Sean Lee. RB Ezekiel Elliott is not there to assist on offense. His replacement, Alfred Morris, just is not the same. It will be tough for Dallas to keep their playoff hopes alive, but desperation play will make this a good game to watch. It will be close.

NEW YORK GIANTS VS WASHINGTON REDSKINS:
Just like every other team in the league this season, both the Giants and Redskins are plagued with injuries. New York will struggle with the Redskins' pass game. Although they may be able to stop the 'Skins run game with their front four that includes Jason Pierre-Paul. QB Eli Manning has WR Sterling Shepard and RB Orleans Darkwa on offense to assist in getting the ball down the field. Will it be enough to get past the Redskins? It might. The 'Skins have lost quite a few defensive players to the IR list. QB Kirk Cousins has to rely on rookie RB Samaje Perine and WR Josh Doctson to move the ball with the loss of RB Chris Thompson to a fractured fibula. There should not be much of a problem for the Redskins to win this game, but the Giants seem to play well against them every time they meet up. It is the first home Thanksgiving game for Washington, maybe that will give them an extra boost.
Who will stay alive to play in the post season? These three games are enough to keep you occupied while you have turkey and all the fixings. I hope everyone is surrounded by family and friends at this time of thankfulness and giving. Always remember that everyone is not happy during the holidays. Check on your loved ones. Good luck to your teams and picks! HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!
