I am going to give you the quick version for today's games. The weekend has been crazy busy, but I am still here to fill you in with my weekly predictions. Here is the short of it..........
HOUSTON TEXANS VS JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS:
The Jags are the real deal. Texans defense is not up to standards. Houston QB Tom Savage is not going to stand much of a chance.
BALTIMORE RAVENS VS CLEVELAND BROWNS:
Not even a possible win for the Browns this season. Even with the return of WR Josh Gordon, the upside is low. The Ravens have defense and will have a quarterback ready to show off.
GREEN BAY PACKERS VS CAROLINA PANTHERS:
A-A-RON Rodgers is back! That will not equal an automatic win for the Packers though. Carolina is clicking on all cylinders. Rodgers will be knocking off the rust. The crowd will roar, but only because he is back, not because they will win.
MIAMI DOLPHINS VS BUFFALO BILLS:
Buffalo has been great at home. Miami is feeling high off that win against New England last week, but they will be brought down by a team that just finished winning in the Snow Bowl last week.
CINCINNATI BENGALS VS MINNESOTA VIKINGS:
Another historic story here with these teams. The Vikings have never lost at home to the Bengals. For some reason, facts like these seem to hold true. Cincinnati is trying to hold on to a playoff spot, but Minnesota is looking for that first round bye.
ARIZONA CARDINALS VS WASHINGTON REDSKINS:
Arizona QB Blaine Gabbert has his weapons making him look good. Although this has come a little late for them to make the post season, it will still be enough to overcome Washington. The Redskins are falling apart at the seams. Their second half of the season has been less that great.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES VS NEW YORK GIANTS:
This is a great game for the now starting quarterback for the Eagles, Nick Foles, to step into. With the Giants crumbling, the Eagles should be able to make the adjustments while Carson Wentz is out during this game. The playoffs look a little dimmer, but it is still possible to get it done with a quality quarterback in Foles.
NEW YORK JETS VS NEW ORLEANS SAINTS:
New York will also be starting with a backup quarterback. Bryce Petty will be under center for the Jets. This bodes well for QB Drew Brees and company. They need a bounce back win after that loss to Atlanta last week. There should be no issues for the Saints.
New Orleans Saints
LOS ANGELES RAMS VS SEATTLE SEAHAWKS:
Seattle needs this win. They will have the tiebreaker if they win. Los Angeles is defense strong though. It is going to be tough on QB Russell Wilson to get that offense going. The 12th man and the football gods will truly have to be with the Hawks. This will be close, but it has to be called.
Los Angeles Rams
TENNESSEE TITANS VS SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS:
Anyone else frustrated with the Titans play? Hot and cold they are. The 49ers have looked pretty decent with QB Jimmy Garoppolo slinging the ball. The passing game is paying off for now. This will catch the Titans off guard even with the Titans needing this win. Going out on a limb here.
San Francisco 49ers
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS VS PITTSBURGH STEELERS:
Home field and first round bye are on the line in this game. As much as QB Tom Brady will try to punish the Steelers for the Pats loss in Miami, the Killer Bs will come out on top. It will be in dramatic fashion, but being at home will definitely have it's advantage for Pittsburgh.
DALLAS COWBOYS VS OAKLAND RAIDERS:
Both need a win. This is the Cowboys' last game before RB Ezekiel Elliott comes back from a six game suspension. Although in his absence, QB Dak Prescott has found his way with the rest of the team. The Raiders could be on the outside looking in if they cannot win. The loss last week to the Denver Broncos was devastating to their playoff hopes. Will they have enough to get past Dallas? Dallas is a much better team than Denver.
That was the short of it! Whew! How do you see things playing out? Last week was awful for me. I am hoping to do a bit better this week. Good luck to your teams and picks!
