So what is Arizona going to do after that whopping loss to Denver on Thursday night? A fire sale? Geez! I thought there would much more of a battle. Oh well, we will see how things turn out. I failed to mention that Seattle played Oakland in one of three games to be played in London this season. This week the Tennessee Titans will face the Los Angeles Chargers at Wembley Stadium. Packers, Raiders, Steelers, and Seahawks are off this week with a bye. Let’s take a look at how I am predicting the winners this week.
TENNESSEE TITANS vs LOS ANGELES CHARGERS:
Great football in the morning!! Wake up, everyone! Football for breakfast! The Titans are .500, but barely. They could possibly keep it close, but the Chargers are really putting on a show with Phillip Rivers, Melvin Gordon, Keenan Allen, and Austin Ekeler. A change in venue will not change the outcome.
Los Angeles Chargers
HOUSTON TEXANS vs JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS:
Jacksonville hardly looks like the team of last season. That is not a positive since the Texans are starting to get things on track. The Jags are on a two game losing streak. With Deshaun Watson getting the offense straight and J.J. Watt back at getting at the quarterback, Bortles and company may have to add another loss to the streak.
CAROLINA PANTHERS vs PHILADELPHIA EAGLES:
Which Carolina team will show up? If the Panther team that played against the Redskins shows up, then this is a no-brainer. Even if the “good” Panther team shows up, it still may not be that easy. The Eagles are slowly acclimating to Carson Wentz again. This will definitely be an interesting game. Super Bowl champs by a hair.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS vs NEW YORK JETS:
The New York Jets have surprised folks the past couple of weeks. Ok, so those wins were over the Broncos and Colts, but with the rookie QB starting, no one predicted it. The Minnesota offense is what will keep this game on their side. Even though the Jets have put up big scores the past weeks, they will not be able to keep up with the scoring prowess of the Vikings.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS vs CHICAGO BEARS:
There was some question as to whether or not Bears LB Khalil Mack was going to play this week. Well, he is. The question is whether or not Rob Gronkowski will play. The Patriots seem to be on a roll of late. This could very well be an upset type of game. Chicago did not look great against Miami last week, but they still have the potential to give New England a run for their money. If Tom Brady can pick apart the Chicago defense like Brock Osweiler did last week, then they walk away with a road win.
New England Patriots
BUFFALO BILLS vs INDIANAPOLIS COLTS:
Please football gods, let the Indianapolis Colts win. The Colts do not have the weapons they need to go with a still not Andrew Luck of old. The Bills have had strong showings, but they are not that hot with Nate Peterman at the controls. There should not be a reason why the Colts do not walk away with the W.
CLEVELAND BROWNS vs TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS:
This could be a shoot out with Jameis Winston and Baker Mayfield. The Bucs need a win. They have not been the same since the Ryan Fitzpatrick meltdown. This could be the game that rights the ship. The Browns, however, have still been in games and could cause trouble for the Bucs. Because of the poor defense on both sides of the ball, look for a high scoring game.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
DETROIT LIONS vs MIAMI DOLPHINS:
Let’s assume that Brock Osweiler will be starting for the Dolphins. It really does not matter against the Lions. Detroit has been struggling. Really struggling. With Miami looking like the real deal, this could mean trouble for Detroit, especially on defense where Miami has created several turnovers every week. Not sure what to expect from the Lions. Definitely not a win.
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS vs BALTIMORE RAVENS:
Drew Brees and the Saints are making things happen. Breaking records even. How will that fair against the best defense in the league? Expect a low scoring game. Joe Flacco is not exactly lighting up the scoreboards. It will be a ground battle between Alvin Kamara and Alex Collins. This will be a close one.
New Orleans Saints
DALLAS COWBOYS vs WASHINGTON REDSKINS:
Not sure if this is the rivalry that it is hyped up to be. The Cowboys lead the “rivalry” 70-44-2. This should be the week that the Redskins drop the ball. They will need to contain Ezekiel Elliott and shut down Cole Beasley. Washington has the defense to do it. Will they let the excitement of “Dallas Week” get to them? Hopefully, Alex Smith will be on point knowing what this game means to so many fans. We will see on a primetime match up between these NFC East division teams.
LOS ANGELES RAMS vs SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS:
There is not a whole lot to say here. the 49ers are just a step in the Rams climb to the top. No one is going to question the winner of this one.
Los Angeles Rams
CINCINNATI BENGALS vs KANSAS CITY CHIEFS:
Cincinnati will not go down without a fight. Kansas City will be tested again against Andy Dalton and company. The Bengals have faced adversity and overcome, so there will be no laying down here. The Chiefs are touting a little better defense than the Bengals. Ultimately, that high powered of the Chiefs will win over.
Kansas City Chiefs
I am a little uneasy about a couple of these games, but this is the story I am sticking with today. How do you see it? Looking forward to some great games. Good luck to your teams and picks.
