That Thursday night game hurt me to my soul, but this is football and the season holds no prisoners. There are some pretty decent matchups this week. This is the last of the bye weeks as well. Those teams taking a break are Buffalo, Cleveland, Miami, New York Jets, New England, and San Francisco. I am going to make this a quick pick week. The games are afoot!
CINCINNATI BENGALS vs BALTIMORE RAVENS:
The Ravens have been a let down the past few weeks. Their defense cannot play the entire game. Let’s hope that Jo Flacco can get the engines started on offense because the Bengals are on a mission after that blow out loss to the Saints last week.
DALLAS COWBOYS vs ATLANTA FALCONS:
Dallas was a little lucky last week. Yeah, lucky. They will not have that against Atlanta though. Atlanta is still trying to compete and is starting to look like it too. Matt Ryan has better weapons and knows how to use them.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS vs NEW YORK GIANTS:
The boo-birds might be out for this one in New York for their own team. Eli Manning is no match for Ryan Fitzpatrick in a shoot out. Fitzpatrick likes to air it out and there is nothing that the Giants defense can do about it. With so much talent in New York it is a shame that their on field performance is so awful. That will allow the Bucs to get one up north.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
PITTSBURGH STEELERS vs JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS:
Apparently Leonard Fournette was not the answer to the Jaguars prayers. It is a shame that the Jags have to depend on Blake Bortles to NOT make mistakes to even have a chance in games. The Jags defense may make it a little tough for the Steelers, but Ben Roethlisberger has his team on a roll. They will make adjustments and get this one on the road.
HOUSTON TEXANS vs WASHINGTON REDSKINS:
Houston is really firing on all cylinders right now. Everyone is healthy and making big plays. There is doubt as to whether or not Washington will be able to keep up. Although Alex Smith is great at not turning the ball over, this Texans defense could change that. The Redskins defense is a banged up and may not be able to withstand the thriving offense of Deshaun Watson. This should be an exciting game.
TENNESSEE TITANS vs INDIANAPOLIS COLTS:
The Titans did get one over the Patriots last week. That would lead one to believe that they could get one easily over the Colts, right? Andrew Luck may have something to say about that. Indianapolis has been on a winning streak of their own and improving with each win. This is going to be a tough one.
CAROLINA PANTHERS vs DETROIT LIONS:
Detroit has a way of showing up for games like this and making it hard to decide who to pick. Carolina is on redemption road after that massacre on Thursday night last week at the hands of Pittsburgh. The Panthers like to start out and slow and build up to their wins. Hopefully, this will hold true and the Detroit defense will not be able to stop them.
DENVER BRONCOS vs LOS ANGELES CHARGERS:
Nice battle in the division here! Denver is lacking on offense with Case Keenum. The defense is not fairing any better. Broncos will raise their level of play, but the Chargers will come out victorious.
Los Angeles Chargers
OAKLAND RAIDERS vs ARIZONA CARDINALS:
Let’s see here. There is absolutely nothing at stake in this game. Let’s take a chance and make the pick no one wants to make.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES vs NEW ORLEANS SAINTS:
Yeah, well, New Orleans is on the ultimate mission right now. Drew Brees continues to make history. Carson Wentz and the Eagles are going to just be a part of that this season. Wentz is improving, but not enough to challenge the Saints defense. It should not be that ugly, but there is potential.
New Orleans Saints
MINNESOTA VIKINGS vs CHICAGO BEARS:
This game has meaning. Both teams are ready for action. Chicago looks to continue their success this season behind Mitchell Trubisky. Minnesota could make it hard with that offense talent they bolster. The Vikes have a few more offensive players than the Bears defense can cover. Khalid Mack cannot be everywhere, can he? This could come down to the wire. Is it possible for it to end in a tie?
What do yo think? I am looking forward to another great day of football. This week starts to countdown to who is in, who is on the bubble, and who is out. Get your analytics ready to see what your team needs to dance. Good luck to your teams and picks!
