If anyone is keeping track, I was 10-7 last week. How did you do? There was no way that anyone could have predicted the outcome of some of those games. Did you think Minnesota would lose to Buffalo? Honestly? OR how about New England losing two in a row on the road? If you did, maybe I need to talk to you. On the other hand, Cleveland won their first game in 19 games. Also, Pittsburgh managed to eke out a win in what looks to be a struggle type of season for them. So far, the season looks unpredictable for the teams that appeared predictable on paper. Here is my best guess for tonight's game.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS vs LOS ANGELES RAMS:
In such a lopsided game against the Buffalo Bills last week, Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins still managed to put up decent numbers. He got 296 yards passing and completed 40 of 55 passes (73%). Not a bad day at the office in spite of the loss. It is hard to believe that with the all points put up during the first two games that the Vikes only scored a mere touchdown last week. Is there a breakdown on the defensive side of the ball? The numbers show that the offense did not have problems on the receiving end. Maybe the Buffalo defense was a bit better than expected or played up to the competition. Coach Mike Zimmer has surely made some adjustments to face one of the hottest teams the past couple of seasons. If the Buffalo defense could sack Cousins four times, how often will it happen with the Rams defense that includes Aaron Donald, Ndamukong Suh, and Michael Brockers? The Rams have given up the fewest points so far this season and rank sixth in total defense. Yet, they only have four sacks on the season. How will that bode against an offense that is capable of scoring if given the opportunity? There is no question that Jared Goff, Todd Gurley, and Brandin Cooks are making things happen with the ball. This looks like the making of a shoot out if Cousins can stop running for his life. Dalvin Cook could possibly be back which might be a plus with the weak corners of the Minnesota defense. In the end, the hot hand is with the Rams.
Los Angeles Rams
Alright, there is the choice I made. Who y’all got tonight? I look forward to seeing this game. Good luck with your teams and picks!
