Yeah, I know you watched that shoot out on Thursday night! WHAT!!! That was a great game. I have had a long week, so today is going to be quick picks. The bye weeks have started with the Carolina Panthers and Washington Redskins getting some rest this week. This is what I think will happen with the rest of the field.
NEW YORK JETS vs JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS:
The Jets rookie QB Sam Darnold will not have it easy against the Jags defense.
MIAMI DOLPHINS vs NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS:
There should be absolutely NO WAY the Patriots lose at home.
New England Patriots
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES vs TENNESSEE TITTANS:
Tennessee cannot get it together with or without Marcus Mariota.
HOUSTON TEXANS vs INDIANAPOLIS COLTS:
The Texans have not shown anyone/any thing. The return of Deshaun Watson for them is not like Andrew Luck’s in Indianapolis.
BUFFALO BILLS vs GREEN BAY PACKERS:
Not at home. Both teams encounter anomalies for a win and a loss. At home, the pick is easy.
Green Bay Packers
DETROIT LIONS vs DALLAS COWBOYS:
Nice win over New England last week. Not sure that will happen again. The Cowboys are due up for a win.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS vs CHICAGO BEARS:
The improved Chicago defense should prove enough to slow down Ryan Fitzpatrick.
CINCINNATI BENGALS vs ATLANTA FALCONS:
The Bengals are hurting a bit with the loss of Joe Mixon and an injured A. J. Green. Not good against Matt Ryan and his weapons.
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS vs ARIZONA CARDINALS:
It is not getting any better for the Arizona Cardinals. Seattle has Russell Wilson despite all of the secondary rebuilding they are doing out there.
CLEVELAND BROWNS vs OAKLAND RAIDERS:
As much as the Raiders need a win, they will not get it here. Baker Mayfield is the new hot in the NFL and the Browns are going to ride it until the wheels fall off.
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS vs NEW YORK GIANTS:
One thing the Saints know is struggle. That is what the first few games have looked like for them. Even with the new additions, the Giants will not outperform them.
New Orleans Saints
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS vs LOS ANGELES CHARGERS:
Jimmy Garoppolo looks to have an ACL tear in his knee. SF looks to have a loss against the “always in the game” L.A. Chargers. C.J. Beathard will not hold up to the well working Charger machine.
Los Angeles Chargers
BALTIMORE RAVENS vs PITTSBURGH STEELERS:
Ben likes to pass. Baltimore has the number 2 pass defense. This is going to make it a long night for the Steelers. This is a great AFC North rivalry that will be fun to watch for a Sunday night game.
This is the no frills version of my picks this week. I will be discussing them in a little more depth on the Rogue Sports podcast. Check my girl, Tamika, and myself out as we talk about football and other sport happenings. Good luck to your teams and picks!
