WEEK 15 TNF: LOS ANGELES CHARGERS vs KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

I am so ashamed that I continue to choose Carolina every week! I guess I am a glutton for punishment. To get things started, my record last week was 10-6. There was no way I was expecting both New England and Pittsburgh to lose. Geez! Again, the theme for this week is WIN. If you want to extend your season, winning is the key. Hoping that other teams lose is another key. LOL! You have seen all of the scenarios by now. This is one of those games tonight that will be decisive in the post season. Get my thoughts on the game below.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS vs KANSAS CITY CHIEFS:

Okay, this will be a game that has major implications for the Chargers. They will clinch a playoff berth. The Chiefs are looking to get home field advantage as well. A lot at stake here on both ends. Who will get their wish? This is going to be a tough one to choose. Los Angeles has been hot. They are 10-3. Kansas City is sitting at 11-2. Not much difference in these teams. The Chiefs lost Kareem Hunt and will have Tyreek Hill back for this game. How will that translate for the Chiefs offense? It brings a target back for Patrick Mahomes to throw to. Los Angeles has a healthy group of players around the veteran Phillip Rivers. Melvin Gordon and Keenan Allen are popular targets for the experienced quarterback. Will it be the back and forth like the Chiefs and Rams? Not really. Do not look for the high scoring of that game to be present in this one. A toss up is what this game might end up being. If the Chargers can get on track early and not let the game get away, they come away with the win.

Los Angeles Chargers

First pick of the week is in. Tell me what you think. It will definitely be a good one. Good luck to your teams and picks!

WEEK 14 TNF: JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS vs TENNESSEE TITANS

There are only a few games left in the regular season and I swear the way some teams are playing makes me not want to pick any more. GRRR!!! But, I will forge on because I do love the game. For those keeping track, I went 9-7 last week. Tonight’s game is not the most looked forward to game of the week. The Jags managed to get a hard fought win over Indy last week, so the potential for this game to be good is there. Here is my take on the action.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS vs TENNESSEE TITANS:

Honestly, how the Jaguars beat Indy last week is beyond words. They shut them out too! Ok, there should be no contest for the Titans to take advantage of a flailing team. In order to keep their playoff hopes alive, they need to win. There is no competition between Blake Bortles and Marcus Mariota. Even with the return of Leonard Fournette for the Jags, it will not be enough to overcome the play of the Titans. The Titans are on a mission to make it to the post season. Coach Mike Vrabel is making all the right moves with the offense. Jacksonville will be looking towards the season ending and making changes for next season.

Tennessee Titans

That is it for me tonight, folks. These next few weeks should be good with the playoffs in sight. Good luck to your teams and picks!

WEEK 13 TNF: NEW ORLEANS SAINTS vs DALLAS COWBOYS

Again last week with a few of those games!! Carolina again……REALLY? I believe that some of these teams are trying to play “spoiler” early. LOL. I went 10-5, so I am on track a little. The race is definitely on for the post-season. A win here on Thursday night for the Dallas Cowboys could keep their playoff hopes alive. Could they pull out a victory over a team that is simply on fire? Let me see if I can put it into perspective.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS vs DALLAS COWBOYS:

What can be said that has not already been said about Drew Brees and the outstanding cast of players he has around him? Brees is on track for the MVP award. Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, and Mark Ingram, Jr. are a major part of him being in the running for that award. Dallas will try to counteract that with Amari Cooper and Ezekiel Elliott. Jason Garrett seems to have found how to use Cooper more effectively in the offense. Garrett has also learned his lesson and has started to “feed” Zeke. Not sure if Marshon Lattimore will be covering Cooper, but that will be an exciting match up inside the game. It will be the Saints defense that the Cowboys will have to contend with. Even if they can find a way to compete, Dak Prescott will not be able to keep up with the gunslinger, Brees. Dallas will not make it easy for New Orleans, but in the end an upset is not going to happen.

New Orleans Saints

I do not doubt that this will be a fairly exciting game. Dallas is battling for respect in the NFC East, but New Orleans is battling for football world dominance. How do you see the end result? Let me know. Good luck to your teams and picks!

WEEK 11 TNF: GREEN BAY PACKERS vs SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

What a Sunday! I went 8-5. That is not great compared to the last few weeks. Could anyone really have predicted the outcome of a couple of those games? Even if given the chance to pick again, I would pick it the same way. Oh well, we are going to move on to the start of this week. This brings us to Green Bay versus Seattle. Both of these teams are facing their own demons. One was supposed to be far better than this. The other is surprisingly better than expected. Let’s see how I have the game turning out tonight.

seattle-seahawks-stadium-wallpaper-15.jpg

GREEN BAY PACKERS vs SEATTLE SEAHAWKS:

For the Packers, the struggle is real. Aaron Rodgers is not going to be able carry this team without some significant help on both sides of the ball. There is no consistency or connection on offense. Defense has not been a strong point either. The Seahawks have been in games, but lack a couple of key playmakers to help Russell Wilson along. Their defense, although rebuilding, is their strong suit. This is where they have the advantage over the Packers. The Packers have not won on the road this season. Although there is a first time for everything, and unexpected things do happen from week to week, the winless streak will continue this week for them. It will be a close one though.

Seattle Seahawks

It is always tough to pick against my squad. I am realistic though. It is not the season Packer fans hoped for, but I am devoted nonetheless. Either way, this is how I see tonight’s game turning out. Good luck to your teams and picks!

WEEK 10 TNF: CAROLINA PANTHERS vs PITTSBURGH STEELERS

These teams will not let me be great! LOL! So I went 10-3 for last week. Geez! That NFC East sold me out! CURSES!! On to the next week then. THIS Thursday night game should have the enthusiasm that we are all looking for in a football contest. Both teams are on a roll and they are pretty damn convincing. It is going to be difficult to choose, but I will attempt to if you read on.

CAROLINA PANTHERS vs PITTSBURGH STEELERS:

As mentioned earlier, these teams are on a roll. Pittsburgh has won four straight and at the top of their division. Carolina has won three of the last four and second behind the New Orleans Saints in their division. For the Steelers, the worry of not having Le’Veon Bell has not effected them. James Connor did not look worthy at first, but has slowly come into his own as a solid running back. Bell has been rumored to be leaving Miami, where he has been working out. Will he or won’t he sign? He might not even be activated when he gets back. Either way, a game still has to be played. The Panthers have been up and down in games, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Cam Newton, Christian McCaffrey and Devin Funchess have been quite effective on offense. These two teams are so evenly matched, it is hard to give either the edge. If it comes down to the last seconds, look for Carolina to take it. If not, root, root, root for the home team.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Crossing my fingers on this one. I have been switching back and forth. I know it is going to be a good game though. Who ya got? Good luck to your teams and picks!

WEEK 9 TNF: OAKLAND RAIDERS vs SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

What a week! How did everyone make out? I believe I went 11-3 again! Not bad. Ok, so tonight, the NFL may have lied and told us that the Thursday night games were going to be better. Then again, the expectation was that these two teams playing tonight would be better than they are currently. Both teams lost last week. Better of the two worsts is the obvious winner. Let’s pick one…..

pumpkin_football.jpg

OAKLAND RAIDERS vs SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS:

Only one win a piece. Geez! How do you pick out of these under performing teams? Nothing seems to be going right for the Raiders. They seem to be getting rid of anyone that can help them. Maybe it’s a ploy to rebuild younger for the move to Las Vegas? It is anyone’s guess. The fact of the matter is that the Niners could be without starting QB C. J. Beathard. He injured his wrist ad thumb during the game against Arizona last week. This would mean undrafted free agent, Nick Mullens, would take the helm and Tom Savage would be his backup. The Raiders could capitalize on this. The problem is that the Raiders cannot close out games. QB Derek Carr has been far from what he was a couple of seasons ago. With WR Amari Cooper now in Dallas, there is little to expect on offense. So will it be the fresh QB or will it be the “seasoned” QB? Tossing a coin up on this one.

San Francisco 49ers

This may have been the hardest game that I have had to pick all season. This was a serious toss up. Give me your pick. That’s all I have for tonight. Good luck to your teams and picks.

WEEK 8 TNF: MIAMI DOLPHINS vs HOUSTON TEXANS

I always start with how I made out last week. 11-3. Not bad. This is the halfway mark of the season. Some separation of those teams destined to make a run for the post-season should start to emerge. Tonight may be the start of that separation. Miami may be the team we knew they would be this year after a great start. Houston is looking like the team it should be this year after a rocky start. Both teams are 4-3. Let’s see who I have coming out 5-3.

stadium-510716_960_720.jpg

MIAMI DOLPHINS vs HOUSTON TEXANS:

Last week’s loss to Detroit was abysmal. Miami’s defense was nearly non-existent. Outside of some flashes on offense. The ‘Phins did not look like the team that started the season. Ryan Tannehill is average at best. No knows what to expect from Miami week to week. Houston, on the other hand, has found its rhythm with returning players now coming into their own. Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins are making the offense happen. J. J. Wyatt is assisting with keeping the defense on task. Houston has won four straight games. They show no signs of slowing down. Barring any injuries, Houston will make a strong show of force come playoff time. There is no way that Miami will be able to keep up with them.

Houston Texans

Remember, this is only my opinion of what I think will happen. I hope that the game is interesting though. That is how I am calling it. Good luck to your teams and picks.
